All Babidi did that we know of was "control" Vegeta, and bring his potential out. Vegeta is naturally durable.
At equal power Vegeta would not have been in the same condition as a dead Goku unless you think that vegeta is more durable then a regular Goku.

A dead body has infinte energy unless SSJ3 is used and is stated to be more durable.

If you and I fought and we were equal in everything but I was more durable I would not be in the same shape as you were at the same time in the fight.

And Babidi never controlled Vegeta.

the durable as a dead body thing comes from spopovitch. he was able to keep fighting after having his neck broken, was beaten around the ring, and still came back for more.
